Saturday Masterclass
Sandeep welcomed participants to The Teachers Academy, outlining programs, new initiatives, and upcoming events. He shared research showing that productive failure improves learning, especially in statistics and problem-solving, more effectively than direct instruction. He discussed expansion plans, emphasising AI-generated content and engagement, as well as the importance of books and reflection in professional growth. Sandeep explained how productive failure leads to flexible problem-solving, unlike the rigidity of direct instruction, using examples like Houston's filtration system and the Apollo mission to illustrate. He addressed concerns about activating misconceptions, noting the brain's ability to prune incorrect connections over time.
Joy of Learning Diaries
"Having a goal and understanding the situation are not enough"
Action plan + Self assessment + flexibility + efforts

My Good School 31st August 2025
At My Good School, Jugjiv Singh invited Shikha Agnihotri, founder of Right Side Story, to speak on kindness and empathy. She described kindness as unconditional help without expectations, distinct from bullying, and emphasised the importance of self-awareness and genuine concern. The session covered empathy—understanding and sharing feelings—and its role in forming bonds. Participants shared acts of kindness, and Shikha urged daily practice of these virtues. Carl, preparing to leave his job, shows emotion as he carefully packs a book, feeling both sadness and acceptance while recognising his final tasks. Unfinished books and a desire for his departure to be ordinary. The group briefly discusses how human crying differs from animals, referencing "The Inner Life of Animals."
