Masterclass - Productive Failure: Conclusion
Embracing failure as a means of learning and growth, Sandeep welcomed participants to the concluding session of the week focused on productive failure, highlighting the significance of practising this approach. Sandeep encouraged participants to utilise the forthcoming weeks to finalise their design of productive failure, as this would symbolise their accomplishment.
Failure is something that most people want to avoid. We all like to succeed, but sometimes failure can teach us more than success ever could. The idea of Productive Failure shows that making mistakes and struggling with problems can actually help us learn deeply and understand better.
In schools, teachers use productive failure to encourage students to think hard, explore ideas, and discover answers on their own. Instead of giving the correct answer immediately, teachers let students try, fail, and learn from their errors.

Learning Forward Saturday - Early Childhood Development.
Brewing Knowledge Friday discussed topics including child development, language acquisition, environmental influences, and education. The session concluded with debates on rote memorisation versus critical thinking and reflective writing. Neelashi explored the nature versus nurture debate, emphasising environmental factors essential for a child’s growth.
“Schooling may improve short-term memory, metacognitive skills, and knowledge in certain domains; it does not fundamentally change the way children think but rather influences their performance on school-like tasks.” Our reading this week at Brewing Knowledge threw me back into a conundrum – will this child in front of me be able to not just make a living but lead a happy, fulfilling life? Will students be able to discover what they truly enjoy doing and learn how to be by themselves while living in a community? Is there anything that I am bringing as a teacher to the classroom that is contributing to their life in a meaningful way?

My Good School: Sunday Book Reading Session
Astha Mishra writes: Today’s session was legit!!! Mr Jugiv Sir didn’t just narrate the story-he brought it to life, letting us step into every scene, feel every emotion and experience every twist as if we were living it ourselves.
The excitement continued with a lively Ruskin Bond quiz conducted by Manisha Khanna, Ma’am. It wasn’t just fun-it was a brilliant warm-up for the next story from the legendary author himself. She also dropped a vital heads-up. From now on, the book won’t be visible during webinars, which means we’ll need to sharpen our attention and dive deeper.
The story itself was a beautiful reminder of the power of helping others-how sometimes, we extend a hand without knowing the whole reason, simply because it’s the right thing to do.
The session was brilliant in terms of teaching, with genuinely helpful support!
