Youth Engaging Society (YES)
Good schools empower students to excel in Service, Skill, Sport and Study..
The YES Way deepens our appreciation for how mentors and schools play a vital role in shaping young lives.
We invite mentors, students, teachers, parents, and volunteers to unite, fostering growth and inspiring success as one vibrant community.
We're thrilled to offer The YES Way exclusively for our GSA Members. Let’s take this journey together!
“The workshop was suitable and very interesting. We learnt quite a lot. We know that each of us is 10/10, yet we may have different likes, ways of thinking, and passions. We learnt to work with a team and create something creative and new. The workshop was FUN!! - Sreoshi Mukherjee.
“I've attended many leadership summits; this is the only one where the Trainer intellectually connected with the audience. To improve the process, please provide written material or handouts for the person to refer to in the future and retain the ideas for a more extended period.” - Raghav Mendiratta.
“This is a great initiative. The suitable workshop helped me balance my studies, sports, skills, and services. These workshops should be held more often.” - Abhishek Jayaram.
Join us at the forthcoming My Good School Retreat at Varanasi in October and experience The YES Way!
My Good School: Meet and Greet Kartik Bajoria
The meeting began with introductions and a discussion about a Ted Talk featuring Karthik, who shared his journey from advertising to teaching, followed by Kartik’s presentation of three pivotal moments that shaped his identity and career path. Kartik delivered a motivational speech on embracing uniqueness and following passions, addressing parental concerns about career choices and the importance of self-assessment. The session concluded with discussions on mental health, the role of technology in learning, and a reading session about animal upbringing, during which Brinda shared insights about natural behaviours and independence in different species.
Activating Prior Knowledge and Foundation for Deep Learning
The meeting began with Sandeep introducing a YouTube channel containing recordings of Productive Failure Masterclass sessions and explaining how to access the content. He then discussed key concepts, including productive failure, encoding variability, cognitive flexibility, and the importance of activating prior knowledge through various learning methods. The session concluded with updates about upcoming events and activities related to the Learning Forward Foundation, including different educational sessions, webinars, and a meet-and-greet with guest speaker Karthik Bajoria.
Learn Like Sherlock: Priming Your Brain for Smarter Learning
In the world of detective fiction, Sherlock Holmes never walks into a room aimlessly. He enters with a clear goal, scans for clues, and deduces what matters. In doing so, Holmes is priming the case, just as learners should prime their minds before tackling a complex problem.
The Teacher’s Academy: Learn Like Sherlock, Priming Your Brain for Smarter Learning and more by Gurdeep Kaur, The Teachers Academy Ambassador #HappyTeachers #PLP #Masterclass. Perhaps you'll get to meet Manu Kapoor soon!
Transforming Schools: Smart Teachers vs. Technology
Transforming schools from good to great through the importance of both smart classrooms and smart teachers in education. Sandeep led conversations about the traditional Guru-Shishya relationship and shared personal experiences demonstrating effective teaching methods, while also addressing challenges in the Indian public education system and the value of human resources in delivering quality education. The team discussed implementing a reading program for teachers. He introduced educational resources, such as The Teachers Academy, with plans for upcoming meetings and sessions focused on professional development and communication skills.
